Long-term Threatened Species Habitat Restoration and Monitoring on Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island tree nursery to save threatened species:
The Snellings Beach Conservation Group Inc. were successful finalists in the Fund My Neighbourhood grants initiative but we now need your vote!.
The group is seeking assistance for materials to establish a native tree nursery to initiate long-term threatened species conservation and habitat restoration projects around Snellings Beach on Kangaroo Island.
We aim to plant 20,000 trees per year to restore crucial habitat for threatened species such as:
• critically endangered glossy black cockatoo
• endangered short-beaked echidna
• endangered southern brown bandicoot
• vulnerable Rosenberg’s goanna
• endangered prickly pea
World-leading local scientists and sectors of the Kangaroo Island community have identified this project as critically important to the survival of these highly threatened species around the Snellings Beach region.
In order to be successful for the Long-Term Threatened Species Habitat Restoration and Monitoring project we need as many votes in support as possible or the project will not proceed - so please help spread the word and encourage your friends to vote in support. It only takes two minutes.
